The first single-brand L’Amande boutique, is located right in the centre of the city, on a corner which perfectly joins the 19th century part of the city with the old Medieval quarter. The boutique is just a short distance from the small, hidden Piazza Chabrol, named for the Napoleonic prefect, Gilbert Chabrol de Volvic, far-seeing administrator of western Liguria and southern Piedmont (Montenotte compartment) at the beginning of the 19th century. This unique setting seems to underline the close ties that have always existed between western Liguria and the nearby France.
This sophisticated showcase for the entire L’Amande line, also sets its sights on sharing the knowledge on the ancient origins of soap, in which Savona and western Liguria, together with Provence and Marseilles, in particular, play an important historical role.
The L’Amande boutique also intends to promote small, but important artistic/cultural events tied to soap and its history, knowing that a material which is so old, yet so familiar to us, can serve as an inspiration to artists in search of new materials and new forms of expression.
